1) Fleetwood’s design focus is the opposite of mass production. A prime example is the sharp edges and crisp lines created by a balance of hand tooling, automation and dedicated machining.
2) In 2005, Fleetwood began a two-year design project to create a better door latching system. The hardware market choices failed to meet Fleetwood’s quality level so we designed our own. The net result is the Archetype locking system (ALH).

Fleetwood’s 3070-T is their thermally broken multi-slide door capable of pocketing, multi-slide, bi-parting and corner operations. The sill is flush with the interior and exterior floor, whereas the 4070-T sill is under the finished floor. The track can be staggered with up to 9 psf water ratings using the buried Arche-Duct drain.

Why do Fleetwood sliding doors operate better than all? Fundamental design principals. Our original track design from the 1950’s is essentially the same today. The key is the convex peak, which is perfectly married to the concave section of each Archetype roller. This creates an ideal distribution of energy with minimal friction. Further consider that each roller is made with Certified Swiss precision bearings.
